Happy Holidays!!!
Ok that’s it. 2009 has come to an end. Talk about an interesting year eh? It started out all dramatic with the credit crunch in all its doom and gloom, but quite soon picked up more and more, as people realized you can’t just stop working altogether. And just as things were getting really good this fall, the whole Dubai World thing happened. But it seems that it’s not going to have that much of an impact either.
Anyway, here are some of the highlights of our year:
• The whole RT office (minus Henrik) ran the Standard Chartered Marathon!
• We got nominated as the best Animation house at the Digital Studio Awards!
• We unleashed our fake movie trailer upon the world, and got massive coverage from blogs and websites all over the world! We also got a front page article in Khaleej Times and a feature in The National, and we did a radio interview as well. At the moment of writing this it has had over 120,000 views at YouTube!
• We settled in properly in our new office in Dubai Studio City.
• We invested in a fair amount of new hardware and software to support our increasing workload.
• We flew in some really talented freelancers to help out on a big project! And we got some awesome plum brandy as a gift!
• We’ve done work for amongst others: JWT, Dragon Oil, Lowe MENA, Wunderman, Action Impact, OgilvyOne, Percept Gulf, Central Films, TBWA/RAAD, HQ Creative, DAC Productions, Resolution Pictures, Filmworks, Landor, Tonic, Zaman, etc. We thank you for all your work, and we look forward to even more work in 2010!
But of course not everything is 100% honky dory. There are always some negative things, right? Without a doubt the worst thing that happened in 2009, is that we slacked big time on pushing our Almost A Mullet mix series. We actually didn’t put out any mixes in 2009, which is a step down from delivering five fantastic mixes the year before. Zero, Zilch, Nada. We’ll shape up, we promise!!!
But all in all we are very, very happy with 2009, and we really feel that we are an even stronger company today than last year!
So, now we’ve earned a bit of a holiday, wouldn’t you agree? Hermann and Hannelize are both heading to South Africa; Ziad flies to Beirut; Henrik is exploring X-Mas and New Year in Tokyo; while Lazhar will hold the fort while the others are away.
We are available for quoting while we are away, and you can reach us on our emails (see our website) in the meantime. And then we’ll all be back in full force again around 6 Jan. So, with that in mind, have a joyous holiday, and we will see you all in 2010!
