Pannekoeken

Here’s a tip: If you don’t feel like paying 31 dirhams for one (1) pannekoeken (which is Dutch for pancake, but that’s no excuse) at More, why not make your own? It’s super easy, dirt cheap and easily as tasty as More’s, if not even better!

Recipe (for around 12 pancakes)
* 2½ cups of flour
* ½ tea spoon salt
* 6 cups of mjölk
* 3 eggs
* 3 tea spoons butter

Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Add half the milk and whisk to a smooth batter.
Whisk in the rest of the milk and eggs. Let it rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Melt half the butter in a frying pan and add it into the batter. Use rest of butter to fry thin pancakes.

Serve with your favourite jam; or just some sugar; or why not some fresh chopped fruits?
Cost per pancake at home: around 1-2 dirham.
Cost per pancake at More: 31 dirham.

PS. We actually like More. They have a lot of nice food, and the ambiance is very “un-Dubaian”. But they DO have overpriced pancakes. Sorry, “pannekoeken”.
