Rolling Thunder presents: PreRoll

It’s crazy times at the Rolling Thunder HQ, hence the blog-quietness. But excuses are for lame-o’s, so let’s move straight on.

The 3rd installment of our Almost a Mullet mix series is done by none other than Rolling Thunder’s own PreRoll! Possibly the most eclectic DJ in Dubai (according to himself), PreRoll has cooked up a truly banging and exclusive mix, which is literally soaked in fatter-than-fat basslines, out-of-this-world beats and and my-dad-can-beat-beat-your-dad synths! Miss this mix, and you risk regretting it for the rest of your life.

(PS. Stay tuned for local hip hop legend DJ Solo’s mix next month!)

“This mix is kind of representative of the music I’m currently into. It spans from wonky/fidget house, to dubstep, to kuduro, to retro hardcore house, to indie-electro, to old skool jungle, and bigbeat influenced house, and it’s even got a beautiful mash of Kraftwerk and The Beatles at the end. Normally I tend to play shorter segments of each song, but today I felt like really giving each tune its good time.”

Biography
Growing up in Sweden, PreRoll was raised on a diet of everything from p-funk and Italo disco to early Chicago house, hip hop and EBM.
Today PreRoll is pushing the best friggin party mash-ups of electro fused house music and bumpy funky breaks in Dubai. Think chunky basslines, dirty breaks, and a whole load of killer bootlegs and surprises from all genres thrown in just because they rock. What ever it is he’s playing, it’ll having you bouncing up and down like a 10 year old kid on a sugar rush!

Apart from being a resident at Radio Lush (lushradio.com) since the early days, PreRoll has also played at the legendary clubs iBO (warm up for DJ /Rapture) and Alpha (headlining their SYNT night), as well as having his own club night, Sweet & Sour. And for around 10 years now, he has been gracing the world with mixes that are downloaded en masse every month. In fact, in 2008 PreRoll’s mix “Let’s Push Things Forward” got well over 8000 downloads!
